Photo Retouching is an Art and I Am an Artist

I have been an artist much longer than I have been a graphic designer and I use those skills in all the photo retouching and enhancements I do. Understanding perspective and the use of shadows is a small part of "real" photo retouching as you will see from the examples I have retouched below. All of the projects below were used in client projects, in family photo albums or for fun holiday parties. These are just some of the more obvious examples of my photo retouching and enhancement abilities. I also fix scans that clients have or repair a brochure or create an item that is needed or just touch up skin colors and or a blemish on a face. You name it, and I can most likely retouch it.

A client does not always know when I am photo retouching for a project they have. This is because just about every photo used in a project needs some sort of clean up or color correcting that just goes with the process of creating a brochure or web site, as in the church advertisement below. But those clients that come to me to just have photo retouching or manipulation, as in the carved table photo to sell online shown below, have a very short process to go thru before receiving their finished item. I can come out and take the photo that will be used for retouching or the client will provide the photos they are wanting insert into another photo or project. Once I have the items, I do the retouch and then send them a medium res proof to view and make any comments on. Once approved, I send over a hires printable version that can be printed or used where they like.
